PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters were called to a nursing home on N. Rochelle Lane Monday morning on reports of fire in the building.
Fire Battalion Chief Stephen Rada says when crews arrived around 7:30 a.m. at the Sharon Willows North facility, they found moderate smoke in the hallway and determined that a light ballast was on fire.
While the fire was being put out, residents were isolated in another part of the building until smoke from the fire was ventilated.
No one was injured, and damage was estimated at $1,000.
Fire investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
