BLOOMINGTON, Ill. โ State champions in high school softball will continue to be crowned in Peoria.
The Illinois High School Association this week approved a contract extension to have the softball state finals stay at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex through 2028. The current contract was set to expire in 2025.
The complex has hosted the state finals since 2021. It was previously held at EastSide Centre in East Peoria from 2001-2020, and at Mineral Park in Pekin from 1976-2000.
โThe Louisville Slugger complex in Peoria is the premier facility in the state for softball and has been an incredible host for the IHSA State Finals,โ said IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson. โWe look forward to continuing to hold a memorable event for the competing student-athletes and coaches at a first-class facility.โ
The 2026 state finals will be the first year it moves to a single-weekend finals.
