EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The city of East Peoria is moving forward on placing a splash pad in Levee Park.
Commissioners unanimously approved a more than $538,000 bid from Aupperle Construction to build the splash pad.
It’s part of Phase 3 of the Levee Park project, where the splash pad will be built, along with LED lighting and additional seating.
The city received an OSLAD grant a few years back worth $400,000 to go towards work at Levee Park.
Half of that money has been used to complete the canopy for the park’s stage, as well as spray equipment for the splash pad.
Any remaining funds will be reimbursed by the East Peoria Community Foundation.
