PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public about a cold case in the hopes of solving a homicide from 2016.
The case involves the homicide of 56-year-old John Frisch.
Deputies say a skull belonging to Frisch was recovered in June of 2017 from the shore of the Illinois River in Kingston Mines, after his torso was recovered in Schuyler County the previous November.
Frisch’s cause of death was reported as blunt force head trauma.
Deputies say Frisch was never reported missing, but had addresses in Peoria and Hawaii.
Sheriff Chris Watkins says the murder remains unsolved to this day, with a lack of information regarding the case as the main factor.
“We just don’t have a lot to go off of right now,” Watkins said. “We don’t have any motive. We have nothing.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office or Peoria Area Crime Stoppers.
