PEORIA, Ill. โ Severe storms moved through parts of Central Illinois Sunday night, causing power outages.
About 1,000 Ameren Illinois customers in the Peoria area lost power around 9:15 p.m., according to poweroutage.us.
As of 11 a.m. Monday, 76 customers were still in the dark in Peoria County, power has been restored to nearly all affected customers in Tazewell County. No outages are reported in Woodford County.
Outages were a bit higher in Fulton and Knox Counties, those areas harder hit by severe storms Sunday night.
Fulton County ESDA told 25 News there were power lines down throughout the county, prompting the ESDA to recommend residents to treat all power lines as live until repairs could be made.
โDo not approach, go near, or try and move power lines,โ the ESDA office said. The agency also reported County Road 2, north of East Workman Road, is closed because a tree is down.
In Knox County, just north of Fulton, poweroutage.us reported almost 2,000 customers were without electricity late Sunday night.
