TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. โ The National Weather Service updated the track of the tornado that touched down in Tazewell County on Sunday night.
The NWS says itโs still an EF1 twister. But it now says the tornado tracked for 14.63 miles, lasting from 8:49 P.M. to 9:05 P.M.
The tornado touched down about three miles northeast of Tremont and traveled through countryside areas, lifting 2.5 miles north of Deer Creek.

TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. โ The National Weather Service says one tornado touched down in Tazewell County Sunday night.
Preliminary information indicates the tornado was rated an EF1 with peak winds of 90 MPH.
It touched down at 8:55 P.M. about three miles northeast of Tremont and traveled northeast for 9.5 miles. It lifted three miles north of Deer Creek about ten minutes later.
Storm reporters say the path traveled through countryside areas, damaging trees and power poles, with the most intense damage being a three-foot diameter tree being uprooted.
A grain bin lost its top and another building lost most of its metal roof.
