PEORIA, Ill. – No one was injured after an apartment fire Friday morning in Peoria above a commercial building.
Peoria Fire says crews were called to the fire above the Panaderia Ortiz Bakery and Pizza on Monroe at around 8:45 A.M.
The fire was under control within 15 minutes, and crews prevented it from spreading to the bakery.
Peoria Fire says everyone safely evacuated, and the apartment suffered fire and smoke damage.
The fire has initially been ruled unintentional, and a Fire Investigation was called in. Damages are estimated at $100,000.
Peoria Fire says the Health Department was also called in because of a fire at a commercial property.
