PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man has been arrested after a burglary to a South Peoria house Monday morning.
Peoria Police responded to the area of Fremont and Folkers at around 9:45 A.M.
Officers observed a broken window at the back of the residence, then heard a noise from inside the house while checking the property.
54-year-old William Lear was then reportedly observed jumping out of a window and fleeing on foot.
Lear was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.
Officers observed Lear reportedly discard a bag during the chase, which contained stolen items from the house.
Lear was arrested for Residential Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting Police, and Obstructing an Officer, and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
