PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man has been arrested after allegedly soliciting minors for sex in Knox County.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says it worked with Peoria Police on an operation targeting online child exploitation on Wednesday. Police say the suspect in question allegedly solicited minors for sexual acts through online chats.
Police say the investigation centered on 67-year-old Robert Romero, who was found and taken into custody in his Peoria home.
He was arrested on charges of Indecent Solicitation of a Child, Grooming, and Distribution of Harmful Material to a Minor.
He was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
