PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria County Board is filling some upcoming vacancies.
The board has approved George McKenna to become the next Peoria County Regional Superintendent, effective June 1st. He takes over for Beth Crider, who is retiring at the end of May.
McKenna has served as Assistant Superintendent since 2016, and has a three decade career in education. He’s worked as a principal, assistant principal, dean of students, special education teacher, and physical education teacher.
Branden Martin will be the Treasurer on July 14th, taking over for Nicole Bjerke, who is retiring this summer.
The county says Martin is an entrepreneur with more than 28 years of experience in launching and managing businesses in a variety of industries. He also serves on the board of directors for the Peoria Area Association of Realtors, and is the vice-chair of the city of Peoria’s Planning and Zoning Commission.
Chad Jones will be the next Supervisor of Assessments on May 20th. He takes over for the retiring Dave Ryan.
Jones has been a member of the county’s Board of Review since 2019, and has worked as the Chief Deputy in the Supervisor of Assessments Office since 2023.
