PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria fire crews responded to a fire alarm at Sharon Wood HealthCare on W. Richwoods Boulevard early Monday morning.
Fire Battalion Chief Steve Rada says when they arrived around 3:45 a.m., firefighters found a pile of clothes and part of a bed burned in one of the resident’s room.
Crews made sure the fire was out and used a large fan to ventilate the hallway and the room of smoke.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
One person was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
Damage was estimated at $500.
