PEORIA, Ill. – One person was taken to a local hospital after a three-vehicle crash in Peoria Friday morning that spilled hazardous materials.
Peoria Fire says the crash occurred in the area of Knoxville and Forrest Hill just after 10:30 A.M., finding two passenger vehicles and a semi-truck involved.
A 100-gallon saddle tank ruptured in the crash, causing about 75 gallons of diesel fuel to leak out.
HazMat technicians, as well as additional fire crews, were called to the scene to stop the leak.
AMT took one person to a local hospital for treatment, while two people refused treatment.
The semi-truck driver was uninjured.

Peoria Police Spokesperson Semone Roth says it happened around 10:30 a.m., and the semi was leaking fuel onto the road.
One of the drivers, not the semi driver, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Traffic at the busy intersection was shut down for over an hour.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
