PEORIA, Ill. – A man was injured after being hit in the face with a gun during a home invasion early Saturday in Peoria.
Police were called around 4:15 a.m. to the area of E. Corrington and N. Peoria Avenues on a ShotSpotter alert. Nine shots were fired.
Officers found the victim, who told them about a home invasion on N. Missouri. He said two men wearing ski masks kicked in his front door, then entered his home.
One of the suspects pointed a firearm at the victim, then hit him in the face with it.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says the suspects then ran from the home, firing shots in the air.
The incident remains under investigation. Police have not released any suspect information.
