PEORIA, Ill. – Unencrypted radio transmissions from the Peoria Police Department are no more.
The department announced Wednesday that it has moved its primary dispatch audio channel for daily operations, known as PREP 1, to Broadcastify.
The department says Broadcastify has desktop and mobile versions on Android and iOS platforms.
In a statement to 25 News, Police Chief Eric Echevarria says he listened to concerns from the community and wanted to be as transparent as possible about informing the public of incidents in the city.
