Greater Peoria Honor Flight add fifth flight to schedule

PEORIA, Ill. – The Greater Peoria Honor Flight announced on Wednesday that its adding a fifth flight to Washington, D.C. this year.

The additional flight will happen on November 4, according to the Honor Flight’s Facebook page. This flight will be in addition to flights already scheduled on July 1 and October 7.

Each Honor Flight, veterans and their guardians travel to the nation’s capital from Peoria’s Wayne A. Downing International Airport for the day, sightseeing and visiting the war memorials and monuments.

So far this year, the Greater Peoria Honor Flight has taken trips to Washington, D.C. on April 1 and May 6.
