PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to meet with a minor for sexual purposes.
Peoria Police says an investigation was launched on May 1st of a resident engaging in an online chat with a child and planning to meet with.
Police say detectives reviewed more than 60 pages of messages between the victim and the suspect, identified as 56-year-old James Parker.
Parker was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with Indecent Solicitation of a Child and Grooming.
Police say Parker is also reportedly a subject of interest in similar out-of-state investigations involving minors. A search warrant executed at Parker’s home reportedly returned several items of evidentiary value.
