PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria woman accused of shooting and killing her boyfriend two years ago has pleaded guilty.
20-year-old TNashia Wash pleaded guilty Thursday in the October 2023 shooting death of 30-year-old Roderick Richardson.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says in exchange for her plea, prosecutors agreed to limit a possible prison sentence to 35 years when she is sentenced in July.
Prosecutors say Wash and her child had been staying with Richardson, and were arguing and physically fighting the day of the shooting.
Wash claimed Richardson pointed a gun at her, and threatened to shoot both him and her, but gained control of the weapon.
Wash then reportedly shot him after he charged at her, with two shots in the front and four in his back, none of which at close range.
