PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office is warning of a scam circulating the area that involves power washing.
The office says it received several reports last week of solicitors going door-to-door and asking to power wash homes for $175.
A social media post says the Princeville and Limestone Townships areas were targeted.
The solicitors would then complete the work, but reportedly told the customers the bill was $3000.
The sheriff’s office says it appears to target elderly customers in the scam.
The scams are under investigation.
