PEKIN, Ill. – A portion of Pekin was temporarily closed Tuesday during an investigation into alleged explosive devices.
Pekin Police say Court and Parkway was shut down during the investigation, after a concerned citizen reported two objects that resembled the alleged devices. Pekin Police did not go into detail on what the alleged devices were.
The area was reopened just after 1:00 P.M.
Police say the items were photographed and sent to the Peoria Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team.
The EOD team recommended a closure of roads and nearby businesses out of caution, but deemed the area safe after arriving and collecting the items.
Pekin Police says an investigation continues.
