WASHINGTON, Ill. – People who walk or bike the path between the Washington Fire Department and Five Points may notice that artists have decorated the space.
25 News reports Washington BRIDGE Education Foundation held its 5th annual “Paint the Path” event Saturday to celebrate Washington’s Bicentennial and raise money to help students afford trade school.
“We’re helping students as they bridge beyond secondary education. We have grants available to students, teachers, and we’re working to put together workshops for financial literacy to kick that off, hopefully this fall,” said Meg Sutherland, the foundation’s executive director.
Artists of all ages and skill levels painted the walking path with temporary art, which can be seen all summer long.
This year, there was also a judged contest for the best art related to Washington’s Bicentennial.
