Coroner identifies body found in box truck in Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. – The identity of the body found in a box truck in Peoria last week is now known.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says the body is of 73-year-old Edward DeArcos of Peoria.

DeArcos’ body was found in a Penske truck Friday afternoon in the area of Jefferson and Abington.

Harwood says there appears to be no signs of injury, trauma, or foul play.  But he adds the cause of DeArcos’ death is still pending toxicology results, a review of medical records, and further studies.

Harwood says anyone with next-of-kin information for DeArcos is asked to contact the Coroner’s Office.

Peoria Police and the Coroner’s Office are still investigating.
