PEORIA, Ill. – A Hanna City man has learned his fate after pleading guilty in May to a fatal crash two years ago near the Shoppes of Grand Prairie.
25 News reports Jeremy Perry was sentenced to a total of 26 years in prison for two different charges of aggravated DUI, one charge for 14 years and 12 years for the other.
Perry must serve 85% of his sentence.
The crash occurred the morning of January 15th, 2023 when prosecutors say Perry ran a red light at the intersection of Route 150 and Koerner Road, causing a three-vehicle crash.
The crash killed 43-year-old Miriam Schmid and left her son with a traumatic brain injury.
A blood test at the hospital revealed that Perry had THC and methamphetamine in his system.
