PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – Several vehicles have been reportedly stolen in North Peoria County this week.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says two trucks were stolen in the Princeville area. A suspect is in custody for retail theft and warrants, but the Sheriff’s Office doesn’t have anything linking him to the stolen trucks at this time.
A truck that was dumped in a creek bed in Princeville and lit on fire was not stolen, according to the sheriff.
Only one of the stolen trucks has been recovered so far.
Watkins says several four wheelers, a lawn mower and a dirt bike were stolen in the area this week, though it doesn’t appear the thefts are related to the stolen trucks.
