PEORIA, Ill. – The former CEO of Redditus Labs has learned his fate after pleading guilty to fraud earlier this year.
25 News reports Aaron Rossi was sentenced to another three years in prison Tuesday in federal court, after pleading guilty in April to one count each of healthcare and wire fraud.
Rossi is already serving five years for a scheme to defraud his former Bloomington employer.
On Tuesday, Rossi was also ordered to give up a recreational vehicle valued at one million dollars, and was suggested to seek substance abuse treatment.
Rossi was accused of defrauding the state of Illinois, as well as public and private health insurance companies, of hundreds of thousands of dollars during the COVID pandemic, via false billing codes.
Prosecutors at the hearing stated that Rossi committed fraud at the height of the pandemic to line his own pocket.
Rossi took responsibility for his actions at the hearing, and apologized to his family and others for his actions.
Rossi was also sentenced to time served for having smuggled contraband in the Peoria County Jail.
