PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria police are investigating two separate early Saturday morning shootings in South Peoria that each resulted in one person wounded.
Police say the incidents were not related.
Officers were dispatched to near Starr and Westmoreland around 1:20 a.m. after a ShotSpotter alert of 12 rounds fired.
Spokesperson Simone Roth says as they arrived they found an adult woman who had been shot in both feet. The victim was transported to a hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
At 6:26 a.m., three ShotSpotter alerts were received from near Proctor and Westmoreland of 16 shots fired, followed by two rounds fired, followed by four rounds fired.
Officers did not locate a victim but were later told that a 24-year-old man had arrived a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the left arm.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
There is no suspect information in either incident and the investigations into both continue.
