PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria grocery store is closing earlier than planned.
25 News reports the Kroger on Sterling will shut down for good at the close of business on Wednesday.
Originally, the store was slated to close on August 2nd as part of around 60 stores to close across the country.
But a Kroger spokesperson says empty shelves produced by discounts on remaining inventory caused the earlier than planned closure.
The remaining food will be donated to Midwest Food Bank.
