PEORIA, Ill. – A South Peoria man will spend three decades in prison for an armed robbery two years ago.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 28-year-old Drakar Munoz was sentenced to 30 years. He was convicted in June of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.
Munoz was sentenced to 30 years for the armed robbery, to be served at 50%, and 20 years for aggravated battery, to be served at 85%. The sentences are being served at the same time.
Prosecutors say Munoz and Jimmy Williams met the victim in the Parkwood Commons Apartment Complex parking lot in August of 2023.
There, Munoz pulled a gun and pointed it at the victim while Williams took the bag, then Munoz shot the victim twice.
The victim survived two gunshot wounds to the stomach.
Williams pleaded guilty in April of 2024 to armed robbery and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
