PEORIA, Ill. – A man has been arrested after allegedly striking another person in the head on Thursday in Peoria.
Police arrived at the 600 block of Western Avenue just before 5:15 P.M., and immediately gave CPR to the 40-year-old male victim until emergency medical personnel arrived.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police then learned the victim was reportedly in a verbal altercation with 63-year-old James Watkins, where Watkins allegedly struck the victim in the head, causing them to fall to the ground.
Watkins was found later on by a drone and taken into custody.
He was arrested for Aggravated Battery and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
