PEORIA COUNTY, – A family was unharmed after a man knocked on their door, asked to borrow their car, and forced his way into their home Sunday afternoon.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says the incident happened around 3:05 p.m. in the area of Plank and Farmington Roads.
The family locked themselves into a bedroom. 29-year-old Travis Kingen allegedly kicked his way into the room, and the father fought him off.
Watkins says Peoria County Sheriff’s deputies were on the scene within a minute or two and arrested Kingen.
He had been arrested on August 9 by Peoria Police for attacking a resident in the mental health floor at Carle Health.
