PEKIN, Ill. – A flower will be a part of Pekin’s branding going forward.
City council Monday night approved a new brand and brand standards for marketing for Pekin, which includes a new logo and tagline concept.
The new logo features a badge-style logo with a marigold inside it, with colors inspired by the marigold flower, and a tagline “Your Place to Grow.”
Mayor Mary Burress says the changes are good for the city.
“There are many people out there that love what they see and aren’t afraid of change, and I think we’re changing Pekin in a good way,” Burress said.
The city can request up to two changes to the concept.
The rollout of the new brand by the city could start as soon as October.
