PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria non-profit is once again seeking a new leader.
In a statement, Denise Moore announced that she is stepping down as CEO of Peoria Citizens Committee for Economic Opportunity. Moore cites pressing family concerns that will require her to spend more time in the Chicago area.
Moore was named as the organization’s CEO in April, and had five CEOs prior to her appointment since McFarland Bragg stepped down in 20-22.
And earlier this month, PCCEO was stripped of around three-million dollars worth of state grants, due to what was described as “persistent organizational and fiscal instability.”
Moore says the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity had asked her to stay through the end of the year to wind down PCCEO’s operations.
