WASHINGTON, Ill. – Brownfest returns to Washington this weekend.
The event, put on by KB Strong, honors Washington Basketball Coach Kevin Brown.
“He passed away from Glioblastoma in 2019, and Brownfest is something that we created as a fundraiser,” Jodi Brown says.
Glioblastoma is a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer that can also attack the spinal cord.
Saturday’s fundraiser includes food, silent auctions and raffles, all raising money for Glioblastoma research. But, Brown tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan”, there’ll also be plenty of music.
“Doors open at 4:00, and it’s in the Countryside Banquet facility in Washington. The first band (performing) is Dexter O’Neil and the Funkyard at 5:00, then we switch over to Stone Cold Cowboys at 8:00.”
Tickets are $30.00 and are available in advance, or at the door.
