PEORIA, Ill. – A 71-year-old man has been identified as the pedestrian who died in a traffic crash Monday morning near downtown Peoria.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says Rudy Stuffel of Peoria was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at around 7:30 A.M.
The crash occurred in the area of Spalding and Monroe just after 6:45 A.M.
Harwood says Stuffel suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries and died instantly.

PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian that happened downtown Monday morning.
The crash happened around 6:50 a.m. at the intersection of Spalding and Monroe.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says a man was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and is talking with police.
