PEORIA, Ill. – Following a national search, Bradley University has appointed Dr. Dan Moon as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. Moon has served in the role on an interim basis since 2024 and previously served as Dean of Bradley’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
“Our new provost must be a person of integrity. Someone who will hold us accountable, who can collaborate effectively while also driving meaningful transformation, and who would require little learning curve to begin this important work. Dan is that person,” Bradley University President James E. Shadid said. “His thoughtful approach to academic leadership, his commitment to student success, and his vision for the continued growth of our academic programs will continue to serve our university well.”
Moon’s appointment included broad input from Bradley faculty and staff through surveys, listening sessions, and open forums with four finalists.
Dr. Moon was appointed Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in January 2022. Prior to joining Bradley, he spent 17 years at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
“I am honored to continue serving Bradley University, and I am deeply grateful for the confidence President Shadid and the campus community have placed in me,” Moon said. “Bradley is filled with extraordinary faculty, staff, and students who share a commitment to excellence and innovation. I look forward to continuing to work alongside them as we build on our strong academic foundation and prepare our students to lead and make a difference in the world.”
Dr. Moon has provided leadership in student success, curricular innovation, online learning, and faculty development at Bradley University.
