PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police is making it easier for residents to report non-emergency crimes.
The department has launched the Desk Officer Reporting System, or DORS, which is available 24 hours a day on the City of Peoria’s website.
The system allows people to submit police reports electronically for specific incidents that do not require a police officer to immediately respond. Some of the incidents include criminal damage to property or vehicle, lost property, identity theft, and burglary from motor vehicle.
Residents who have information on suspected criminal activity or fugitives are encouraged to submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers or tip411. And they should continue to use 911 for crimes in progress or emergency situations.
