PEORIA, Ill. – Dream Center Peoria will be holding a special distribution of grocery and toiletry items this Friday, November 21st, as part of their local emergency relief initiative.
The event will take place at Dream Center Peoria, located downtown at 714 Hamilton Boulevard, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The public can drive or walk through to receive a prepared package for their family, with over 500 to be distributed. Each package will provide multiple meals.
Dream Center Peoria launched the initiative earlier this month to help families facing increased costs for food, utilities, and housing.
Executive Director Andy King tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan” that they’ve already served more than 200 families this month with the help of some local churches and donations from the community.
Even with food assistance programs opening up again, local families are still struggling as they prepare for Thanksgiving.
