PEORIA, Ill. (25 News) – A Chicago-area man accused of shooting a woman inside a Bradley University dorm last month pleaded not guilty on Thursday to multiple charges.
19-year-old Edward Traywick Jr. was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated discharge of a firearm in mid-October.
On October 19, Peoria Police said Traywick was inside the residence hall visiting a friend when he shot a young woman in the abdomen. She was not a Bradley student, and is recovering.
PPD said Traywick was also carrying 42 rounds of ammunition at the time of the shooting.
He said the shooting was an accident, and because of a clean record, he was released at his detention hearing.
25 News reports that Traywick will be back in court on February 2.
