PEORIA, Ill. – It appears a faulty furnace is to blame for a fire Monday morning in Peoria’s West Bluff.
Battalion Chief Josh Martin said the fire in the 2100 block of N. Machin Avenue started in the basement. Just before 7 a.m., someone who lived in the home saw smoke, and called 911.
Firefighters shut off the utilities to the home and ventilated it.
No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $15,000.
