PEORIA, Ill. – WMBD Radio’s own Ed Hammond is celebrating a major milestone on Wednesday.
He’s broadcasting his 500th game in 28 years with Bradley University Women’s basketball.
“I say that, and everybody’s going to say ‘well, you should have had more games’. But, the first nine, maybe ten years, we only did like six games. We did the two Illinois State games, home and away, and four home games,” Hammond says.
He tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan” that it’s been exciting to watch the Bradley women’s talent level continue to rise over the years, through several coaching changes.
Wednesday’s game at Renaissance Coliseum with the South Dakota Coyotes at 11 a.m. is part of Bradley’s Field Trip Day.
