Woman who died while detained at Peoria County Jail identified

PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria woman has been identified as the Peoria County Jail detainee who died while in custody on Tuesday.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says 39-year-old Pamela Wall was pronounced dead in her jail cell just after 5:00 A.M.

Harwood says an autopsy shows Wall suffered asphyxiation due to hanging.

Wall had been booked in the jail on Sunday on a failure-to-appear warrant.

The sheriff’s office says no foul play is suspected

Harwood says the case remains under investigation.
