WASHINGTON, Ill. – Washington City Council voted Monday night in favor of making Jeff Fiegenschuh their new city administrator.
Mayor Lilija Stevens said Fiegenschuh’s background in strong organizational leadership, fiscal stewardship, and experience in building trusting relationships makes him an excellent fit for Washington.
“Jeff understands how to move projects forward, while keeping residents at the center of every decision. We’re excited to welcome him into this role,” Stevens said.
Jeff Fiegenschuh comes from Rochelle, Illinois, where he served as city manager.
Washington has been without a full-time city administrator since August, 2024. City Engineer Dennis Carr has filled the role on an interim basis.
Fiegenschuh’s first day on the job will be January 19th. His three-year contract with the city will pay him $180,000 a year until 2029.
