PEORIA, Ill. – The Prairie Home Alliance Theater and Peoria Civic Center are once again getting national attention.
Pollstar data shows the theater is ranked 50th in the nation for ticket sales, with over 105,600 tickets sold.
“That’s tickets sold in the theater alone, because the theater and arena are separately ranked. But, for the theater to be in the Top 50, most of the venues that are ahead of us…it’s data, it’s literally just a chart, it’s based on numbers…but, how many of those venues are in Chicago, New York, L.A., major markets where there are millions of people. We have about 400,000,” Peoria Civic Center General Manager Rik Edgar says.
He tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan”, Prairie Home Alliance Theater’s gross sales surpassed $6.5 million in the past year, while the Civic Center arena placed 84th in sales with nearly 109,000 tickets sold and gross sales over $6.8 million.
Big shows for the Prairie Home Alliance Theater in the past year included a two-week run of “Wicked”, Bob Dylan, and Leanne Morgan. The arena’s top sellers were Shinedown, Pentatonix, Brooks and Dunn, Gabriel Iglesias and Nate Bargatze.
Edgar says, “Selling 200,000 tickets in a year speaks volumes about the passion of our fans, the strength of our partnerships, and the commitment of our team here in Peoria.”
