PEORIA, Ill. – Four teenagers are facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle Thursday evening and fleeing from police on foot.
On December 18, 2025, at approximately 6:10 p.m., Peoria Police officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft that had just occurred in the 1100 block of West Thrush Street.
A short time later, officers located the stolen vehicle abandoned in the 2100 block of Underhill Street. Upon arrival, they observed seven male subjects fleeing the area on foot when they saw police.
Following a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended four suspects in the 1200 block of West Brons Avenue. The individuals taken into custody included three 16-year-old males and one 17-year-old male.
The juveniles were transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviews. All four were arrested on charges of Motor Vehicle Theft, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Criminal Damage to Property, and Resisting a Peace Officer.
One of the 16-year-old males was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center. The remaining three juveniles were released to the custody of their legal guardians.
Three of the seven males who initially fled from the scene remain unaccounted for. The investigation is ongoing.
