PEORIA, Ill. – A 20-year-old man was arrested Monday for Armed Robbery in connection to robbing a teen at gunpoint earlier this year in Central Peoria.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says Cortez Cagle was ordered to remain in jail after a detention hearing on Tuesday.
Prosecutors say officers responded to the 1600 of N. Great Oak Court on September 17th.
The victim reportedly told police that he was at a friend’s house when Cagle allegedly held a firearm to his back as he walked to his car.
Cagle allegedly told the victim to empty their pockets, with the victim giving him $110.
Prosecutors say the victim identified Cagle as the robber because they attended the same high school, but Cagle reportedly denied any involvement after admitting being in the area at the same time.
