BARTONVILLE, Ill. – There’s a new leader at the Bartonville Fire Department.
In a social media post, the department announced that Michael Cheatham is stepping down from the role as chief, after 20 years in the position, and more than 50 years of service in total.
Cheatham is still planning to remain an active member of the fire department.
Assistant Chief Drew Zachman was sworn-in Monday night by the Village Board as the new Fire Chief.
Zachman has been a member of the Bartonville Fire Department since 2001, and has also served as Lieutenant and Captain.
