Child injured after reportedly being struck by vehicle in Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. – Police are seeking the suspect in a hit-and-run incident in Peoria that injured a child.

Peoria Police says the incident occurred in the area of Gale and Douglas on Friday just before 2:00 P.M.

Officers found the 11-year-old boy upon arrival.

The boy told police he was riding a scooter in the roadway when he was reportedly struck by a tan-colored vehicle.  He was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

The vehicle reportedly fled the scene prior to police arrival, and a search of the area to find the vehicle was unsuccessful.
