PEORIA, Ill. – The head coach of the Peoria High School boys’ basketball team has been arrested for allegedly trying to solicit a teenage girl.
Peoria Police says 41-year-old Daniel Ruffin was arrested at the school Monday morning.
Police say they made contact with Ruffin and a 16-year-old girl at the school. Officers allegedly observed text messages on the teen’s phone that were determined to be inappropriate.
Ruffin was interviewed by police, then arrested for Indecent Solicitation of a Child and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
Ruffin is a Peoria High graduate and former Bradley Braves basketball player, and a member of the Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame.
