PEORIA, Ill. – Open burning is being cited as the cause of a garage fire early Tuesday afternoon in Peoria.
Peoria Fire responded to Gale and Institute just before noon, finding the detached garage with a lean-to carport fully engulfed.
The fire was quickly extinguished with multiple hose lines.
Two nearby residences had melted vinyl damage due to radiant heat.
An arson investigator determined the cause of the fire was accidental.
There were no injuries.
