PEORIA, Ill. – All six teenagers allegedly responsible for a dangerous high-speed chase Tuesday morning throughout Peoria must stay in jail.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 18-year-olds Davier Dillard and Quiznel Foy were ordered detained at a hearing on Thursday. The four juveniles involved; ages 16, 15, 15, and 13, were ordered to remain in custody on Wednesday.
The group allegedly stole a vehicle, filmed an attack on a teenager before stealing his iPhone and jacket, attempted to strike a 14-year-old with a vehicle, and threw objects at police squad cars before officers stopped the vehicle at Main and University.
Prosecutors say during a police pursuit of the vehicle that lasted 10 minutes, speeds reportedly topped out at 70 MPH several times, 80 MPH three times, and hit 90 MPH at one point. The group also allegedly drove the wrong way at least five times on streets, and even on a sidewalk.
Prosecutors say charges are different for each member of the group, but include and not limited to Robbery, Mob Action, and Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding. Dillard has also been charged with Attempt First-Degree Murder.
