EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The East Peoria Fire Department was called to a structure fire Wednesday evening at a home in the area of E. Washington Street and East Road.
Crews arrived around 5:18 p.m., finding smoke showing on the side of the house. Assistant Fire Chief Grant Hangartner said the fire was located on the home’s exterior, behind the siding.
The fire was under control in less than 15 minutes. Damage is estimated at $5,000, and the cause is presumed to be electrical.
Everyone got out of the home safely before firefighters arrived, and two dogs were found safe inside the home in their crates.
There were no injuries reported. The family was displaced but is staying with family members.
